This Error Code usually indicates that the console timed out when attempting to communicate with Nintendo's servers. How are you attempting to connect your Wii console online? Try a "Manual Setup" with the Wii console (how to), using your network's DNS information. To access the DNS settings: On your PC, click "Start" and then "Run." Type "CMD" into the field that appears to open a new window. Type "IPCONFIG/ALL" and press "Enter" to display a list of internet settings, including the "DNS" settings. Input these into the "Manual Setup" of the Wii console's internet connection. Power cycle your router and modem by unplugging them both from the wall. Wait a few minutes, and plug the modem back in. Wait a couple of minutes for the modem to initialize, then turn on the router. Try to connect the Wii console online and test for proper response. Are you using a Netgear brand wireless router? The Wii LAN Adapter has not been properly installed. Make sure that you are using the Wii LAN Adapter made by Nintendo (click here for a picture and connection steps). LAN adapters not made by Nintendo likely will not work with the Wii console.

Please check the following: Satellite Internet often causes this Error Code. You must have a cable or DSL internet connection. Other connection types, such as dial-up and satellite, are typically not compatible. Contact your Internet Service Provider if you are not sure what type of internet connection you have. Ours servers may be trying to handle an unusually high amount of traffic (especially if a new Wii update is available). Please wait a few hours and try the connection again later. Does your internet service provider (ISP) require that you log in whenever you wish to use the internet? If so, your ISP may not be compatible with the Wii console.
